There must be something in the water! Really! Meet the gang at Saltbox Primitive Woolens on 30148 W. Dam Access Rd., Warsaw, MO 65355 (660-438-6002). Beautiful - the setting, the shop and the scenery! Our backyard neighbor is the Harry S. Truman Dam and Reservoir.
Me (Patty), my husband (Ozzie), and friends are all involved in the shop. Our customer service is professional yet warm and inviting. There's so much to look at you may as well plan to stay a few hours. We dye the wool right on the premises and we offer rug hooking classes year round. You could try to make a day of it, but with all there is to do and see in the area, you should plan on a weekend at least. Reserve a seat in one of our classes, drop your honey off for fishing and meet up later for a picnic lunch!
There are yards and yards of wool. Some as mentioned before are over-dyed, and some as is. All the wool is washed and dried - so you will be ready to start your project. We have a full supply of patterns, and all the supplies needed, including cutters, frames, and hooks.
This room is full of quilting material, patterns, sample projects, and supplies. If you are a quilter - you need to check it out!
We have DMC embroidery floss in every color and also carry Valdani thread.
There are knick knacks everywhere and ever changing. You will just have to stop by and see everything!
Feel free to come by the shop anytime during business hours. But every Friday is our "project" day. The cost is only $6.00. Come and bring something to work on. There will be people who are rug hooking, knitting, crocheting, and all kinds of small hand work. We gather and work, but mostly just have a fun time. It is always interesting to see the projects everyone is working on.
